Friday

On Friday we spent most of the day riding the bus home but we stopped at Niagra Falls and ate lunch at Skylon Tower.

Wednesday

Wednesday, October 24

On Wednesday, our first day Toronto, we had a tour of the city.

While we were walking around, we passed the hockey hall of fame, where many pieces of equipment from many of the teams in Canada were kept. Also in the huge building were many stores and the front of an old bank that had been carried to the site in pieces.

This is one of the tokens we used to ride the subway. I didn’t know until now what it is like to be in a city with an active subway system.

Later we saw the government center in Toronto. The two semicircular outer pieces of the building shelter the inner part where they meet.

This is a picture of the CN tower, the tallest tower freestanding structure in the world.

These are two views from the side of the bus. The one on the left shows the city skyline and the one on the right shows the Royal Bank of Canada building, which is colored gold because of a large amount of gold dust that was worked into the building’s windows. This gold is worth about $1,000,000, but it insulates the building.
